Nau Mai. Welcome to Crave.

A Few Little Things That Are Making Us Happy This Week

We're currently on Day 12 into our C-19 lock down. We've managed to keep track of the days of the week, although they do tend to mash into each other and I have a quiet joke to myself about relaxing on the weekend. Like many of you, Chris and I are absolutely enjoying spending more time with our kids (who are all school age) although we had an interesting time in the first few days getting our heads around all the ways to communicate with teachers and understanding school work online.

Our respective families are in Cambridge or further a field, around NZ and Australia - "The Big Island". To keep in touch, we've set up WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger chat groups to keep up with each other, where we share how are days are going which inevitably ends up talking about our forays into cooking.

One of the things we've found hard, is going from working 12 hours a day with the rest of the CRAVE team to now no-longer seeing them as we're all in our personal bubbles. So I thought it would be interesting to find out what little things the CRAVE team has been doing this week to keep their lives more interesting while in lockdown. And we'd love to hear about what you've been doing.

Board Games

1. Hanging with Family

"This week I have been playing board games and card games with my family. One thing we do as a family every night is light the brazier outside and have dinner together. That always brightens our mood 😊." - Toby

CRAVE Website

2. CRAVE Website www.mycrave.co.nz

"At CRAVE, one of the things we've been wanting to do for ages is to have a Loyalty Programme that works with both our Online Ordering system and our in-store Point of Sale system. This week I've used the opportunity to move this goal forward and we now have a loyalty programme and an updated website which ties in with our in-store Point of Sale. It's a lot easier for our customers and the CRAVE team to use, and is a big step forwards for us and I can't wait to start using it."  - Kirsten

Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson

3. Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson

"This week I've watched many YouTube videos about yachting, as yachting around NZ has been a dream of mine for some time. Today, I'm pottering around the kitchen while listening to Walter Isaacson's audiobook about Steve Jobs, who has been at the forefront of much mobile phone and tablet innovation. His way of approaching what he loved doing is not only interesting but an inspiration to many people who work with technology or who love design. I highly recommend listening or reading this book if you've got the time." - Chris

Bible Scripture

4. Time to Reflect

"My husband is working from home, so I'm enjoying having the family together more than usual. I'm finding time every night to sit quietly and listen to scripture messages, learning so much about the Bible and having the desire to know more 😁 I’ve always wanted to do it but I was always “tired” but now it’s like it’s a highlight of my day." - Janice
